HOUSING SERVICES INSTALLS FRONT DESK SOFTWARE
TO MAKE GUEST SIGN-IN/SIGN-OUT EASIER

Housing Services has installed at all of the residence hall/apartment front desks, software to make the guest sign-in/sign-out process more convenient for the residents. The guest policy remains the same and can be reviewed in the Guide to Student Housing. However, instead of guest(s) receiving guest passes, the new system will scan the guest(s) and resident's photo identification to monitor visitation.

Residents are reminded to carry their DPU ID with them at all times in order to access their building. During the first week of the fall quarter, visitation violations will not be strictly enforced as residents learn the new system. However, after the "grace period" ends on Monday, September 15, 2008, visitation violations are subject to the suspension of privileges. Suspension of guest privileges as follows:

  • First Violation= Warning
  • Second Violation = 2 weeks loss of privileges.
  • Third Violation = 4 weeks loss of privileges.
  • Fourth Violation = Privileges are lost for the quarter.
  • Fifth Violation = Judicial Hearing with Residential Education with possible additional sanctions.
